11. NAG Youth Code of Conduct for Coaches /Parents / Spectators and Officials


Our Code of Conduct for:
Coaches, Officials, Volunteers & Spectators...

At New Ash Green RFC good, ethical conduct and practice is important to us.

All our coaches, officials and volunteers must:

• consider the wellbeing and safety of young members before the development of
performance and winning.

• develop an appropriate working relationship with players, based on mutual trust and respect.

• make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part (coaches must be familiar with the appropriate sections of the RFU Continuum and U19 Law Variations)

• promote fair play and positive aspects of Rugby Union

• display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance

• must not smoke or drink alcohol on club premises or whilst representing the club at competitions

• follow rules and guidelines laid down by the Club and Rugby Football Union

• never exert undue influence over players to obtain personal benefit or reward

• never condone breaking the spirit or laws of the game

• never promote the use of prohibitive substances

• encourage players to value their performances and not just results

• never enter the field of play unless invited to do so by the referee

• never argue with an official – appropriate discussions / debate may be acceptable at a later date or time.
